Broadcast engineers setup and operate the video and audio equipment used for television or radio broadcasts [Source]. Depending on the size of the station, broadcast engineers may either specialize in a certain field or oversee the whole operation.
If you’re looking to start your career in broadcast engineering, we would recommend speaking to your local TV or radio station to find out about apprenticeships. In the UK for example there is the BBC Engineering Apprenticeship or the BBC Engineer Traineeship (for graduates). In the USA there is the The Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) which offers some training courses and certifications which may help in your application.
