Main areas of responsibility (included, but not limited to)
• To work with the Senior Management Team and key broadcast suppliers to develop the best technical workflows and ensure implementation of the contractual provisions set out in agreements with the EFL’s key broadcast and production suppliers. Part of this will include assistance in shaping future strategies and developments in this area.
• To be responsible for all operational aspects of our broadcast partnerships, working with suppliers in this space to ensure delivery, accountability and measurable progress.
• Assist in the development of broadcast innovation for the EFL, looking at new opportunities to enhance our output in the short, medium and longer term (including, commentary technology, additional cameras, new tech integrations and products including those currently used by the EFL and other relevant stakeholders e.g. GLT/VAR implementation.)
• Operational input and oversight of the EFL’s broadcasting budget, ensuring planned costs are managed and any additional budgetary requirement is identified and reported in a timely and appropriate manner.
• To liaise with and advise EFL Digital Department on streaming and broadcasting elements with direct impact on ifollow and future streaming services.
• To liaise with EFL member Clubs regarding the contractual and regulatory delivery and implementation of broadcast operations ensuring this is seamless and without risk, to include camera positioning, gantry requirements, liaison with infrastructure partners and the distribution of live feeds.
• Oversee the implementation of a Club specific Broadcast Pack, including information on their camera set up (club, Sky, IMG and Pitch), gantry facilities, OB compound details, feeds they get each week, evacuation plans in conjunction with broadcast partners.
• Consolidate the EFL archive, looking at cost effective ways this opportunity can be exploited.
• Assist in the management of EFL Anti-Piracy efforts.
• Be responsible for all filming access requests, media rights enquiries and licensing opportunities (in conjunction with Head of Digital)
• Responsibility for ensuring any broadcasting issues identified by both clubs and broadcasters either in advance of or during live games are resolved ensuring delivery of footage is without risk.
• Assist with the pre-event and on-site broadcast operations at all EFL events to include the liaison with all broadcast partners, PGMOL/VAR, internal shoots, workshops, and any other aspects including all Health and Safety requirements in conjunction with Football Services Department
• Ensure all operational aspects of broadcast contracts are communicated and disseminated to Clubs in a consistent and accurate manner.
• To ensure that Clubs promoted or relegated into the EFL and EFL Clubs with new stadium designs are equipment with the appropriate Broadcasting Facilities.
• To provide support to other EFL Department’s to ensure consistent delivery of broadcasting needs and requirements as well as clear messaging to Clubs and stakeholders.
• To maintain a professional, business-like approach when representing the EFL with both internal and external stakeholders ensuring the reputation of the EFL is maintained and enhanced at all times.
