RaceTech provides a unique range of technical and broadcast services to the horse racing industry – from cameras and full outside broadcast production, public address and audio systems, to photofinish and many other technical solutions.
As Outside Broadcast Project Engineer you will work as part of the project engineering team and be responsible for designing and installing broadcast systems for both internal and external projects.
You will run broadcast projects from initial concept through to delivery, ensuring all documentation is up to date at all times, and liaise with customers. You will also be responsible for training staff on new broadcast equipment and attending Outside Broadcast (OB) days to observe and advise on correct use of equipment.
Candidates must have OB experience and be able to act as an extra engineer at busy periods in the OB schedule which will require some weekend work. You must demonstrate a strong broadcast engineering background and/or a degree or equivalent in a broadcast engineering or electronics engineering discipline. You must be able to resolve technical problems quickly and efficiently and have a strong understanding of video/audio/communication systems within live television broadcast. Some RF/Radio Link experience (Vislink, Gigawave) is an advantage.
A driving licence is essential and HGV would be desirable. Knowledge of current Health & Safety requirements plus an interest in horseracing is helpful.
